Jacksonville, AL –The Jacksonville City Council held a regularly scheduled work session and city council meeting on March 25th, 2024.

      • Independent audit report showed the opinion presented fairly and presented no issues.
    • T-Mobile Grant – Marcus Wood.
      • Chief Wood went over the details of the grant that was awarded for $50,000. He did not that it was more of a pavilion than gazebo as was originally released by the city. Three ideas and quotes were presented. His recommended quote would be $65,000 and that does not include power to the pavilion.
    • Development Review Application – Mark Stephens.
      • Anytime a project is submitted to the planning commission an application is required. One issue that has come up is a request change the verbiage to denote a pre-application meeting is required. Currently a pre-application meeting is highly recommended, but not required.

      • Shirley Millwood spoke. She is running for Calhoun County Probate Judge. Her runoff election is April 16th. She shared her background and reasons for running.
