A Russian military is conducting exercises for naval vessels on the Bering Sea this month. The U.S. Coast Guard is watching.

Kimball, the Coast Guard cutter Kimball is in the process of patrolling a region in the U.S./Russia Border Line Maritime as Russian vessels conduct various military exercises.

On Friday, Russians launched a rocket about 600 miles to the northwest from Dutch Harbor.

Rear Admiral. Megan Dean, a representative of the Coast Guard, said in an announcement that the exercise is legal, however, she it was also stated that it was the Coast Guard “will continue to make sure that there is no disruption for U.S. interests or commerce in the maritime area in Alaska.”

The U.S. Department of Defense issued a statement warning the area, which will remain in effect until Sunday.
