Anniston, AL – The McClellan Development Authority together along with Visit Calhoun County, Alabama along with The City of Anniston, invites the public to participate in an emotional event at the Fort McClellan Military Cemetery on the 16th of December, on Saturday beginning at 11:00 am. The ceremony, which is part the nationwide effort called Wreaths Across America, aims to honor, remember and Teach by laying wreaths of remembrance over the tombs of soldiers who have died.

The cemetery is located at located at 540 Goode Road, Anniston, AL 36205 The Fort McClellan Military Cemetery holds the graves of more than 400 soldiers who have fallen and the local community is invited to take part in this emotional memorial.

Every year, Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies in Arlington National Cemetery and more than 3,400 other locations throughout the fifty U.S. states, at sea and in foreign countries. Fort McClellan is honored to be part of this nationwide effort, which provides the opportunity for our local community to gather and pay homage to those who have made an ultimate price.

Participants are invited to participate in the celebration, during which each name of lost soldiers will read aloud and a wreath of remembrance will be erected on their graves. It’s an appropriate way to pay tribute to the brave women and men who fought for our country.

In the time of year, Wreaths Across America offers an opportunity to come together as a group and think about the importance to the sacrifices of our military.
