Alexandria, AL – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release regarding a home invasion and shooting in Alexandria earlier today. Calhoun County Deputies were dispatched to a residential home in Alexandria regarding a possible home invasion. Upon arrival deputies located a man suffering from gunshot wounds, later identified as, Scott Ingram, 47, of Munford. It was later learned that Ingram was the alleged perpetrator and had attempted to force his way into the residence. One of the residents inside the house was able to fire rounds at the home invader striking him multiple times. Deputies provided immediate medical aid until emergency medical service was able to arrive. Ingram was life flighted to a trauma center where he is currently being evaluated.
The home invasion victims had a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order against Ingram due to prior incidents. Sheriff Matthew Wade advised that a warrant for violation of that PFA had been secured this morning due to a previous incident with the home owner. Ingram has a substantial criminal history that includes four previous violations of Protection From Abuser order, six arrests since 2022 and an active warrant for violation of Protection from Abuse order issued earlier this morning. Ingram was also currently out on an active bail bond resulting from an arrest for violation of Protection From Abuse order from late last year.
The two residents inside the home were not injured during the incident. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office advised that the investigation is still ongoing.
