Anniston, AL – Mark your calendars for an enchanting celebration as the Anniston Museum and Gardens brings the spirit of Chinese New Year to life on February 24th. Embracing the traditions of the Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, the event promises a day filled with cultural richness, symbolism, and vibrant festivities.

Chinese New Year is celebrated with great enthusiasm across various countries, including China, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, and more, each marking the occasion with unique customs dating back thousands of years. The Berman Museum, situated in the heart of Anniston, invites the community to join in the revelry as they usher in the auspicious Year of the Dragon.

The highlight of the event will be the captivating Lion Dance performances by the esteemed Chien Hong School of Kung Fu from Atlanta, Georgia. This traditional dance, believed to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits, is a spectacle not to be missed. The rhythmic movements and vibrant costumes will add a touch of magic to the festivities.

Attendees can also indulge in an array of activities, including food samples featuring traditional Chinese flavors, dragon-themed crafts, and engaging games for all ages. To ensure a seamless experience, pre-registration is encouraged, with each session accommodating a limited number of 75 guests. The event will be divided into two sessions:

**Session 1:**
– Time: 10:00 am – 12:15 pm
– Lion Dance: 11:00 am

**Session 2:**
– Time: 12:45 pm – 3:00 pm
– Lion Dance: 1:00 pm

Tickets for each session are priced at $18 for adults and $16 for children (ages 4-17). Anniston Museum and Gardens members enjoy a $4 discount on their tickets.
