The Andalusia High School chapter of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America recently made memories that will last a lifetime during a two-day trip in Atlanta last week.
A total of 15 FCCLA members attended the AmericasMart Fashion Market on Thursday, April 11. FCCLA students were in attendance at the fashion market for the eighth year.
“We had an incredible time and did a lot of fun activities during our trip. The students got to experience 13 floors of shopping with merchandise marked at wholesale prices on Thursday. After a long day of shopping, FCCLA dined at the Hard Rock Café in Atlanta,” FCCLA Sponsor Jana Clark said.
The fun continued onto the next day at additional locations in the Peach State.
“The students explored the Georgia Aquarium on Friday where they viewed numerous exhibits and a dolphin show. Afterward, we all ate lunch and reminisced about our time at the CNN Center. These are experiences that will not soon be forgotten. I would like to thank Charlotte Walden, Karen Dubose, Amber Mullins, and Frank Shaffer for all of their help in serving as other chaperones,” Clark added.
Walden felt the trip was beneficial to FCCLA members for several reasons.
“Field trips are some of the most memorable and enriching educational events that students will experience in their school careers. They may not always be able to recall the formulas, the timelines, or the historical events, but any trip outside of the four walls of the classroom will always be remembered. These students represented AHS, their community, and themselves so well. We had fun, learned, and made memories along the way,” Walden said.
