FREE PLAY FRIDAY is returning to the Anniston Museum! Join the team from the Education department within the Learning Lodge for fun, exploratory play with natural materials. Ideal for children of all ages.
The program is included in admission to the museum and is free for museum members.
We’re so excited for the many homeschool-related events that will be happening at Anniston Library! Anniston Library! This Friday will be the day they will be offering their Arts for Homeschool Class! Discover different types of art! It is the same event as the teenagers’ Homeschoolers are taking art classes at Anniston Room. Anniston Room.
Homeschool activities aren’t only restricted to elementary school age! There is a teens in the Homeschool Arts class in the Anniston Library is in the Ayers Room. Discover famous artists styles, movements, styles, and techniques, then design masterpieces of your own! Ages 13and over.
We are awestruck by our visit to the Anniston Museum and Friday they are hosting their Open House for Volunteer Opportunities. One of the best ways to get acquainted with your experience at the Anniston Museums and Gardens is to volunteer. If you’re a plant fan, animal lover or even a historian there’s something of interest to all! You can visit anytime between 1:00pm and 5:00 pm to get to know staff members and talk to volunteers in the current program, and find out about the possibilities at AM&G that include the care of animals, gardening work as well as museum docent.

The event you must attend on the weekend for moms will be The CCM’s Saturday Social in the The Enchanted Nail Boutique in Oxford! Saturday, from 10am to 2pm, we’ll be in this free event, which will include food and giveaways and many vendors available to pamper yourself! You are free to come and go however you like and enjoy delicious snacks, mocktails along with prizes and amazing discounts from Enchanted Nail Boutique this day exclusive to Calhoun County Moms that come to the event! Southern Link Jewelry Co. will be on site with permanent jewelry, and Baby Cakes are present serving adorable pancakes! Pink Rubies Boutique will also be on site! The event is sponsored by Allen Ray, Realtor! This will be an amazing day, meeting new mothers from our community, and having fun with the company of others!
This is Market this weekend Oxford and it’s Market at Main at Simmons Park. Come out to enjoy crafters, food trucks and a children’s zone, as well as story time at the Library!
Another event that is happening at Anniston Museum this weekend. Anniston museum this weekend will be the Ambassador “Adoption” Fair Saturday, 10am-2pm Anniston Museums and Gardens has approximately 40 animal ambassadors who live in the museum. These animals are full-time “Creature Teachers” who educate and enthuse everyone of all ages on conservation and wildlife. They make the Anniston Museum Natural History’s halls of exhibits back to life and assist us to communicate with our visitors. To provide the best possible care and care, we require assistance from animal lovers just like you! Take part in AM&G’s AM&G Education team for a meet and meet and chat with the ambassadors during our day. You will also discover ways to help us to provide the highest quality grooming and care for your pet by joining adoption through the adopt an Ambassador program.
You know that there’s nothing that I enjoy more than a great Food Truck Festival! Jacksonville is where you should be on a Saturday night for an evening of food truck fun at the Hidden Gems on Wheels Food Truck Festival.
In Jacksonville this Saturday will be also the Back to School Bash on the Square. The admission is completely free. There will be plenty of fun and opportunities to entertain children and adults when they come to an end the year’s Summer Sundays at the Square.

Michaels provides free craft events for children every Sunday between 2 and 4. p.m. All the materials are included, meaning there is no need to purchase expensive kits that are only used once or large amounts of a variety of materials. This week, the kids are creating a cool kindness poster! It’s a great reminder to get back to school!
