Ally Folsom was a big part of Faith Christian’s most successful volleyball season since 2018, and she’ll get the chance to play in college.

Folsom made it official Friday, signing to play with Gadsden State Community College.

“I went to an open tryout, and they emailed and asked if I wanted to join the team,” Folsom said. “I’ve been attending practices and playing for them this spring.

“There were some other schools in Georgia and Tennessee that had emailed me, but I just didn’t feel like going that far out. I thought it would be a good fit because I could stay close to home and continue to play.”

The 5-foot-10 outside hitter was a first-team All-Calhoun County pick in 2023, helping Faith reached the Elite Eight for the first time since 2018. She was most valuable player of the Class 1A, Area 8 tournament.

Folsom finished 2023 with 348 kills, 141 digs and 13 assists.
