Oxford, AL – An incident occurred on Wednesday, the Oxford Police Department Special Investigations unit attempted to stop a vehicle on I-20 in the afternoon, setting off a series of events that led law enforcement on a pursuit into Talladega County. With the cooperation of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) and assistance from various jurisdictions, including the Oxford Police Department’s aviation unit, the high-speed chase concluded in Winterboro.
Three individuals were taken into custody at the scene:
1. Tykendrick Weathers (Shreveport, LA):
– Felony Fleeing Law Enforcement
– Possession of Controlled Substance
– Reckless Endangerment
2. Kamron Anderson (Las Vegas, NV):
– Possession of Controlled Substance
– Possession of marijuana (two counts)
3. Travis Frierson (Las Vegas, NV):
– Possession of marijuana (two counts)
Oxford Police Chief Bill Partridge emphasized the severity of the charges, stating, “Reckless fleeing from law enforcement is a FELONY in Alabama.” The arrestees now face a range of charges, including felony offenses related to evading law enforcement and drug possession.
