The Councilman Greg South brought up the most talked-about topic of the afternoon. This issue wasn’t even in the agenda. However, it was discussed for over an hour. The discussion was about how to remove trash from the streets? Street and Sanitation Supervisor, Tim Frost was a long-winded speaker on the subject. Tim Frost emphasized that his area of sanitation is a bit short and a bit slack. He and Frost discussed the Council and Frost debated how many weeks will be needed for trash pickup to regular trash, and how many weeks should be reserved for broken household items, mattresses and furniture? The truck will also be heavy when the leaves begin to fall. Tim Frost said that the leaf truck does not function correctly. It’s a model from 2006. After some after a lengthy discussion, council as well as Tim Frost said they would attempt the regular three-week trash collection and one week household garbage, as well as other items like mattresses, furniture that is broken or old clothing, among other things that they don’t pick up for the first three weeks. The council will observe how this works for the time being.
This year’s Piedmont City Council will be on Tuesday, October 3rd.
