Ohatchee, AL – Get ready for a brush with artistic expression as the Alabama Barn Quilt Trail brings its Barn Quilt Painting Event to Ohatchee, Alabama. Hosted by the trail’s founder, Regina Painter, and her son, Jeremy, this immersive painting class will be held at the Ohatchee Senior Adult Activity Center on Saturday, February 17th at 9:00 am.

For a ticket price of $100, participants can dive into a day of creativity, learning, and fun. The event promises a unique opportunity to create a personalized 2’x2′ barn quilt on composite aluminum metal, adding a touch of Southern charm to your space.

Attendees will have the chance to paint a 2’x2′ block on composite aluminum metal, curated for easy hanging once completed. Let your artistic spirit flourish and bring home a piece of the Alabama Barn Quilt Trail.

Instructors will lead the classes, sharing their expertise and guiding participants through the creative process. It’s a hands-on experience in barn quilt painting, uncovering the magic of turning a blank canvas into a work of art.

Choose from 14 beautiful quilt block patterns, each selected for simplicity and the potential for completion in a single day. With up to 5 colors per pattern, your artwork will have ample drying time to shine.

Paints (up to 5 colors) and patterns are supplied – think of it like a quilter selecting fabrics for a masterpiece. Consider where your square will be displayed and choose colors that complement its final location. Most supplies are provided, but bring your Exacto knife to trim tape. Blue painter’s tape will be available, or you can bring Yellow Frog Tape for sharp, crisp lines.

To ensure a personalized experience, only 25 attendees per day will be accommodated. Seize this opportunity to craft your own barn quilt masterpiece. Wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on and bring your sack lunch and any snacks you desire. Lunch is not included.
