Alaskans are now able to apply for 2024’s Permanent Fund Dividends as the deadline for filing the annual dividends from the oil wealth fund of the state was opened on Monday, January. 1.

Inadmissible Alaskans are able to submit an online application at pfd.alaska.gov to file for the next PFD which is expected to be in the autumn. The paper applications can be downloaded and available at local distribution centers throughout the state.

In order to be eligible for a 2024 PFD you must be an Alaska resident for the entire 2023’s calendar year, and you shouldn’t have been detained or sentenced to a felony conviction throughout the year. If you leave Alaska for more than 180 days will be a disqualification for the current PFD.

What amount Alaskans will get this year is currently at the moment.

Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s budget plan for the coming year would give out more than $3000 to residents who qualify, based on the formula that has been in use for decades in the state law.

However it is true that it’s worth noting that the Alaska Legislature hasn’t followed that formula since 2016when it was trying to find a balance between paying PFDs while also the cost of state services, and the 2024 dividend will likely to be smaller than what the governor’s proposal..

Alaskans are given until March 31 at 1159 p.m. to apply for the next PFD.

The amount for the PFD last year was $1,312.
