Hilton and EKN Development Group announced that a brand- and management agreement was reached for the Waldorf Astoria lake Tahoe. The resort will open in 2027 and be located in Nevada’s Crystal Bay community and Incline Village. This mixed-use site, which will cover 15 acres, will have 76 guest rooms as well as 61 residences.

The resort will feature both slope-side and lakeside rooms. It will also have a three-acre lakefront club, a spa, fitness center, and an outdoor terrace. There will also be a resort pool.

Details about the amenities are not available at this time, as we could be five years away from opening. Below are renderings of the property.

This property will be added to the 32 Waldorf Astoria properties that are currently open and the 26 in the pipeline.

This replaces the Tahoe Biltmore.

The Waldorf Astoria Lake Tahoe is being built on the site of the former Tahoe Biltmore. It was one of the most historic properties in the area, having been open for 75 years. In 2021, the hotel was bought for $56.8million. The new owners had planned to demolish the property and construct a new one.

Although there had been plans to redevelop this property under the previous owners’ ownership, that project was stalled because of funding concerns. We hope this doesn’t happen again. It was closed in 2022. Major construction is expected to begin in the near future.

In 2027, a Waldorf Astoria will be built in Lake Tahoe. It is exciting to see how fast the Waldorf Astoria brand grows. This should make it a great option for anyone who wants to redeem Hilton Honors points. There are not many luxury hotels in Lake Tahoe.
